Statement of Faith

1. BIBLIOLOGY (concerning Scriptures)

We believe that the 66 Books of the Bible constitute the inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God. Though God has not revealed to man all that He is and knows (Deut. 29:29), He has communicated all that is necessary for Salvation, service, life and practice.

2. THEOLOGY (concerning God)

We believe that there is only one true God, who exists eternally in three co-eternal and co-equal persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Scripture attests to the incomprehensibility (Job 11:7) and the knowability of God (Jn. 14:7, 1 Jn. 5:20).

God reveals Himself in many ways, some of these conduits are:

• creation (Ps. 19:1, Rom. 1:20)

• the nature of man (Gen. 1:26)

• man's conscience (Rom. 1:18-19)

• the Son (Jn. 10:30)

• Holy Scriptures (1 Cor. 2:10-13)

There is but one God in essence (Deut. 6:4, Eph. 4:4-6)

3. CHRISTOLOGY (concerning Christ)

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son, the second Person of the Trinity, in His absolute and essential deity; He is fully God and Perfect Man.

We believe in the virgin birth (Isa. 7:14, Matt 1:21-25). Humanity was combined with His deity in the incarnation (Gal. 4:4, Phil. 2:5-8). He had a real human body (Lk. 2:52) a human soul (Matt. 26:38), and human characteristics (Matt. 4:2, Matt 9:36, Jn. 19:28). Jesus Christ provided an efficacious sacrifice for sin (Heb. 10:1-10). His death on the Cross was vicarious in nature (2 Cor. 5:21), thereby providing redemption (2 Pet. 2:1), reconciliation (Rom. 5:10), and propitiation (Heb 2:17).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ rose physically from the grave on the third day (1 Cor. 15:3-4), and ascended to the right hand of God the Father (Acts 1:9, Heb. 1:3). We believe in His imminent and physical return.

4. PNEUMATOLOGY (concerning the Holy Spirit)

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, and is one with the Father and the Son. He was the Agent for revealing God's message to the human Biblical writers (2 Pet. 1:21), and presently indwells each true believer. He is the One who presently convicts the unregenerate of sin, righteousness and judgment (Jn. 16:8-11).

We believe the Holy Spirit is a personal being who exhibits: intelligence (1 Cor. 2:13), emotion (Eph. 4:30), and possesses a will (1 Cor. 12:11). He is equally God (2 Cor. 13:14, Acts 5:3,4, 9).

5. ANTHROPOLOGY (concerning man)

We believe man (both male & female) (Gen. 1:27, Gen. 2:7), were created by God in His image (Gen. 1:26). Through disobedience to God’s will, man became depraved, bringing spiritual and physical death upon himself and all mankind (Eph. 2:1-5, Rom. 5:12, 19). Man is now inherently corrupt and incapable of choosing or doing anything worthy of Salvation (Rom. 3:10-18). All men (male & female) are therefore sinners by Divine pronouncement, nature and deed (Jn. 3:36, Rom. 3:23, Jas. 2:10).

6. SOTERLOLOGY (concerning salvation)

We believe that God's redemptive plan for sinful man is a gracious work of God and solely His (Jn. 2:9, Phil. 1:6, Thess. 5:24). Salvation is achieved through the substitutionary death (Mk. 10:45), and resurrection (1 Cor. 15:3-4) of Jesus Christ.

We believe that faith alone in the Person and finished work of Jesus Christ is the only means by which one receives salvation (Acts 16:30-31, Eph. 2:8, Heb. 11:6).

We believe that believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit thus guaranteeing their salvation. This promise is eternally secure (Jn. 10:28-29, Heb. 7:25).

We believe that Christ's death was unlimited in scope, but is effectual only for those who accept Him as Saviour by faith alone.

7. ESCHATOLOGY (concerning last things)

We believe in the imminent physical return of Christ Jesus, who will visibly return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and He will overthrow all forces of evil including the evil one (Satan).

We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust; in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the judgement and conscious, eternal punishment of the wicked.

8. ECCLESIOLOGY (concerning the local church)

We believe the local church is a body of believers, both members and adherents, called out from the world by the sanctifying work of Jesus Christ. It exists for the propagation of the faith and observances of the ordinances (Communion and Baptism).

We believe it is a sovereign, independent body, exercising its own Divinely awarded gifts, precepts and privileges under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

We believe its’ spiritual officers are that of Pastor (Acts 14:23, 1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Pet. 5:1-3) and Deacons (Acts 6:1-3, 1 Tim. 3:8-13)

9. RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

We believe in religious freedom; that everyone has the God given right to practice and propagate their beliefs.

10. CHURCH AND STATE

We believe in the entire separation of Church and government.

11. SATAN

We believe that Satan exists as an evil personality, the originator of sin, the accuser of the brethren. He is the deceiver, liar and archenemy of God and God's people.
